Cornelius Ruhtenberg ,a Latvian-born painter and wife of Jules Kirschenbaum, one of the most influential Central Iowa painters of his generation is a fine listed artist in her own right. She began exhibiting to rave reviews in the 1940's. Her work has been exhibited at the Met, MoMA, the Corcoran and other fine museums across the country. She invented a figurative style that never quite fit within any odern art movement. Some have considered her work as "spiritual work." Very few paintings by Ruhtenberg remain on the market. This painting, as well as a smaller portrait entitled, "Jules," of her husband are fresh on the market from a fine estate. Price:
